Something to Remember

This post is mainly a warning for something that many people--myself included--wind up doing when it comes to New Year's Resolutions.

I find that, all too often, we get so wrapped up with what we are doing and what change we can make in the world. Then. . . We forget to give the glory to God. We begin to think that we  can do things all on our own, and have no need to do things like pray and have Christian fellowship. Because, after all, we don't need it.

And the more we fall into that philosophy, the more the opposite will be true.

So today, I encourage you all to pray about each of your resolutions, no matter how small.

But why stop there? Don't just pray about them, but ask for God's blessing on them.

After all, we can do all things--but only in and through Christ who gives us strength.

Also, if there happen to be any men following this blog, I encourage you to add being courageous onto your list of resolutions. Here's the link to the movie Courageous's (by Sherwood Pictures) website. They have some amazing resources, including copies of their Resolution that you can put in your own home.

"But if serving the LORD seems undesirable to you, then choose for yourselves this day whom you will serve, whether the gods your ancestors served beyond the Euphrates, or the gods of the Amorites, in whose land you are living. But as for me and my household, we will serve the LORD.” Joshua 24:15
